The 2016 River of Light in Waterbury is over! On behalf of Gowri, MK and Angelo, we would like to thank everyone who helped to make our 7th lantern parade such an incredible success. Firstly to all of you–students, parents, workshop participants, artists, walkers and spectators–for providing the light, energy and joy. Also thanks to Deb Fowler, Waterbury’s Rec. Director for the festivities at Dac Rowe.
We can’t forget our musicians: a big thank you Sambatucada, Brass Balagan, and The Crossett Brook Middle School Junk Band for providing such fabulous music, and also to Ignis Solus for a terrific fiery finale.
We had groups of volunteers including students from Norwich University, students from Harwood Union High School, and a whole host of community volunteers who gave their time, energy and commitment. Thanks also to the police and fire department for helping to ensure everyone stayed safe on the night.
Finally, we couldn’t do it without our sponsors, supporters and local businesses who helped to make it a parade to remember.
Heartfelt thanks to you all for your continued support and for celebrating the change of season in such spectacular fashion. With love and light ❤
