Last weekend, over 50 community members from all over central Vermont attended our two community lantern-making workshops at Thatcher Brook Primary School in Waterbury. It was a beautiful, fun and convivial atmosphere – here are a few photos from the day…
Hello and welcome to this year’s River of Light in Waterbury lantern parade! We are delighted to announce that this year’s parade will be taking place on Saturday December 3rd 2016! Workshop info. coming soon! In the meantime, please enjoy our poster – this year’s theme is ‘Everything Botanical: Wild Vegetation and Fantastical Flora!” We look forward to seeing your beautiful creations!
Well that’s it for another year! Thanks to everyone that participated and made the effort to turn up in some very challenging wintry weather conditions. We had a fabulous evening and we hope you did too. Here are some parade photos from the evening. Taken by Gordon Miller and Gowri Savoor. Please enjoy!
In an effort to reduce, reuse and recycle, please bring along your old LED lights from a previous River of Light parade and we will exchange your batteries for FREE.
We’ll be in the school gym from 4-5pm on Dec. 6th and light station volunteers will be happy to help with your battery exchange.
Alternatively, if you need a fresh new light, they will be available to purchase for $1 each. (cost price). Our LEDs are fully submersible so you can even use it to light up your bath when you get home 😉
This is what they look like..
